Aspire Gotek Pro 2 Review: Our 10-Day Test, V2 Pods & Gotek Pro Comparison
Share

Is the Aspire Gotek Pro 2 worth upgrading to? After using a pre-release sample supplied to Ubervape by Aspire for 10 days, our answer is an emphatic yes — particularly if you already use an Aspire Gotek device. The Aspire Gotek Pro 2 feels noticeably more premium than the original, its 2500mAh battery delivered excellent real-world endurance in our testing, and the new Gotek V2 pod produced a surprisingly large improvement in flavour when we compared it directly with the original pod.
This isn't a specifications-only first look. We have actually been using the Gotek Pro 2 as an everyday vape, comparing it directly against the original Aspire Gotek Pro, testing its ECO, NOR and MAX modes, adjusting the airflow from tight MTL through to a much more open RDTL draw and running two different nicotine salt e-liquids through the supplied 0.8Ω Gotek V2 pod.
Our quick verdict: Aspire hasn't simply given the Gotek Pro a cosmetic refresh. The Gotek Pro 2 is a considerably more complete pod kit, with better battery life, greater control, a useful display and excellent build quality. The device itself is a worthwhile upgrade, but the biggest surprise from our testing was the new Aspire Gotek V2 pod. Flavour was significantly more intense than the original Gotek pod while remaining smooth and consistent throughout our 10-day test.
How we tested it: Aspire supplied Ubervape with a Gotek Pro 2 sample ahead of release. We used the device for approximately 10 days before writing this review. Our testing included the supplied 0.8Ω V2 pod, direct comparison against an original Gotek pod in the original Gotek Pro, multiple airflow and power settings, and two different 50/50 nicotine salt e-liquids. All hands-on observations below are based on our own use of the product.
Aspire Gotek Pro 2 Review: What's Actually New?
The Aspire Gotek Pro 2 — officially named the Aspire Gotek Pro II by Aspire — is the new premium model in the Gotek range. It keeps the simplicity that made previous Gotek kits popular but addresses several of the limitations of the original Pro.
The headline changes are a much larger 2500mAh built-in battery, three selectable ECO, NOR and MAX power modes, a clear segment display, faster 2A USB-C charging and compatibility with the new generation of Gotek V2 mesh pods. Adjustable bottom airflow and automatic inhale activation remain, so Aspire has added functionality without turning the Gotek into a complicated pod mod.
That approach works particularly well. The Gotek Pro 2 vape kit gives you noticeably more control than older Gotek devices, but you still don't need to understand wattage curves, menus or complicated settings. Fill the pod, insert it and inhale.
Our 10-Day Hands-On Test of the Gotek Pro 2
For this review, we concentrated on the supplied 0.8Ω Gotek V2 pod. Rather than simply deciding that the new pod tasted good, we wanted to know whether it was genuinely better than the original.
We therefore put the same e-liquid into an original Aspire Gotek replacement pod installed in an original Gotek Pro and compared it against the new 0.8Ω V2 pod in the Gotek Pro 2.
The difference was immediately noticeable.
The V2 pod produced substantially more intense flavour. Vapour production at comparable everyday settings wasn't dramatically different from the original pod, but flavour saturation was. Individual flavour notes came through more clearly and the overall vape felt fuller without becoming harsh.
We also paid close attention to whether that stronger initial flavour faded as the pod aged. After approximately 10 days, the V2 pod still seemed remarkably close to how it performed on day one. Flavour remained consistent, we experienced no dry hits and no leaking, and the coil did not feel tired or muted by the end of our testing period.
For balance, the original Gotek pod we compared it with didn't leak either. We therefore wouldn't claim that leak resistance alone is a reason to upgrade. The clear advantage we noticed was flavour intensity and flavour consistency.
The New Gotek V2 Pod Is the Star of the Show
We expected the larger battery and power settings to be the headline features of the Gotek Pro 2. After using it, however, the Aspire Gotek V2 replacement pods became one of our favourite parts of the new system.
Aspire has upgraded the built-in mesh coil used inside the pod. Mesh coils spread heat across a larger surface area than a conventional wire coil, helping e-liquid heat more evenly. With the V2 design, Aspire has focused particularly on improving flavour detail, consistency and coil longevity.
Based on our 10-day test, the flavour improvement isn't just marketing language. When we compared the V2 0.8Ω pod with the original 0.8Ω Gotek pod using the same e-liquid, the V2 was considerably more flavoursome.
It's also important to separate the V2 pod improvement from the device improvement. You don't necessarily have to buy a Gotek Pro 2 to experience the new pod technology. The V2 pods work with compatible devices across the existing Gotek family, which is excellent news if you already own a Gotek Pro, Gotek Nano or Gotek X III.
Resistance compatibility varies between Gotek models, so check your particular device before choosing a V2 resistance. If you're buying the new Pro 2, the UK kit includes the 0.8Ω V2 pod as standard.
Original Gotek Pods Still Work Too
Aspire hasn't forced existing customers into a completely new pod ecosystem. The Gotek Pro 2 remains compatible with the wider Gotek pod platform, meaning you can continue using original Gotek replacement pods if you already have some.
That backwards compatibility is a significant advantage for existing Gotek users. However, after our side-by-side flavour test, we'd personally choose the new Gotek V2 pods where compatible — particularly as Ubervape currently sells the V2 and original pods at the same price.
Aspire Gotek Pro 2 vs Original Gotek Pro
If you already own the first-generation Gotek Pro, this is probably the question that matters most: is the Gotek Pro 2 actually better enough to justify upgrading?
In our opinion, yes. The improvements are significant enough that this feels like a proper second-generation product rather than a minor refresh.

Which Feels Better in the Hand?
The Gotek Pro 2 feels more substantial and considerably more premium. The aluminium-alloy construction feels solid and sturdy without making the device excessively large or cumbersome.
It is slightly larger than the original Gotek Pro and felt marginally heavier to us, but not enough to make portability an issue. Ergonomically, we found the shape comfortable to hold and the additional size actually contributes to the more substantial feel of the device.
If absolute compactness is your priority, something such as the Aspire Gotek Nano remains a smaller alternative. If you want the most complete and premium-feeling Gotek we've used, we'd pick the Pro 2.
How Good Is the 2500mAh Battery?
Battery life is one of the strongest reasons to buy the Aspire Gotek Pro 2. The move from the original Pro's 1500mAh battery to 2500mAh gives the new model substantially more capacity on paper, but what matters more is how that translates into actual use.
During our testing, we went two full days without charging it despite using it frequently. That was heavier-than-normal use because we were deliberately testing the device, switching modes and comparing performance.
Based on that experience, we would expect many moderate users to be able to approach around three days between charges, although battery life will always vary according to puff duration, selected power mode, pod resistance and individual usage.
The device also supports up to 2A USB-C charging, compared with the 1A maximum charging current of the original Gotek Pro.
ECO vs NOR vs MAX: Is There Really a Difference?
Three quick clicks of the button cycle the Aspire Gotek Pro 2 between ECO, NOR and MAX. The system deliberately avoids complicated numerical wattage adjustment.
During our test with the 0.8Ω V2 pod, we found the difference between ECO and NOR relatively subtle. NOR felt like a sensible everyday setting, while ECO is useful if battery conservation matters more than maximum performance.
MAX was a different story. Switching to MAX produced a much more obvious increase in both flavour intensity and vapour production. If you want to see what the new V2 pod can really do, MAX mode makes the difference immediately apparent.
We wouldn't necessarily leave MAX on all day if maximum battery life was the priority, but it provides a useful extra level of performance that the original fixed-output Gotek Pro simply couldn't offer.
Does the Button Fire the Gotek Pro 2?
No. The Aspire Gotek Pro 2 is an inhale-activated vape. Despite having a physical button, you don't need to press it while vaping. In our testing the device fired automatically as soon as we inhaled through the mouthpiece.
The button is there for device controls such as changing between ECO, NOR and MAX modes. This keeps the actual vaping experience as simple as earlier Gotek kits while adding extra adjustment when you want it.
How Good Is the Adjustable Airflow?
The bottom airflow slider does exactly what it needs to do and offers a useful range.
Close it down and the 0.8Ω V2 pod can provide a very tight MTL draw. Open it up and airflow becomes considerably freer, allowing a faster flow of vapour and a more relaxed restricted-direct-to-lung style inhale with a suitable pod.
That makes the Gotek Pro 2 flexible without becoming complicated. Beginners can find a comfortable draw quickly, while experienced Gotek users have enough adjustment to tune the device to their preference.
What E-Liquid Did We Use in the Gotek Pro 2?
We tested the Gotek Pro 2 with two flavour-heavy nicotine salts: Riot X Strawberry Orange Crush and Bar Juice 5000 Strawberry Cherry Raspberry.
Both are the kind of layered fruit flavours that make differences in coil performance easier to notice. The V2 pod did an excellent job of separating and intensifying the individual flavour notes rather than producing one generic sweet fruit taste.
If you're choosing vape juice for the Gotek Pro 2, we'd recommend balanced 50/50 e-liquids and nicotine salts. You can browse the full Riot X nic salt range or Bar Juice 5000 nic salts for flavours suited to this style of refillable pod system.
Who Is the Aspire Gotek Pro 2 Best For?
Existing Gotek users are the most obvious audience. If you already own a Gotek Pro, Gotek Nano, Gotek X or Gotek X III and enjoy the pod platform, the Pro 2 provides a substantial device upgrade without forcing you to abandon familiar replacement pods.
We think it is particularly well suited to:
- Existing Gotek owners wanting a more premium device with much better battery capacity.
- Nic salt users who prioritise flavour and a smooth MTL or RDTL vape.
- Beginners who want simple inhale activation without complicated menus.
- Regular pod-kit users who are tired of frequently charging smaller devices.
- Flavour-focused vapers interested in Aspire's new Gotek V2 mesh pods.
- MTL and RDTL users who want adjustable airflow and different pod resistance options.
The device isn't excessively large, the controls are straightforward and the price remains surprisingly accessible for something Aspire is positioning as the Pro model in the range.
Should Existing Gotek Pro Users Upgrade?
We would.
After testing both devices side by side, we would personally choose the Aspire Gotek Pro 2 over the original Gotek Pro.
The build quality alone makes the new device feel like a step up. Add the 2500mAh battery, selectable power modes, clearer display and excellent airflow adjustment and there are several meaningful improvements rather than one headline change.
The V2 pod is another major advantage, although it's worth remembering that compatible older Gotek devices can also use the new pod technology. If you don't want to replace your current kit yet, upgrading from the original Gotek pods to the Gotek V2 pods is the first change we'd make.
If you're choosing a new device from scratch, however, the Pro 2 is the Gotek we would choose.
What About the Gotek Nano and Gotek X III?
The Gotek family still gives you several good options depending on what matters most.
The Aspire Gotek Nano makes sense if you prioritise compact dimensions and a low purchase price. The Aspire Gotek X III is another lightweight Gotek option and remains part of the same familiar pod ecosystem.
Where the Pro 2 separates itself is battery capacity, premium construction and additional control. If we were buying specifically for everyday use and wanted fewer charging interruptions, the Pro 2 would be our choice.
Is There Anything We Didn't Like?
There wasn't much that frustrated us during the 10-day test, which is unusual enough to be worth saying.
The Pro 2 is slightly larger than the original Gotek Pro, so buyers specifically looking for the smallest possible pocket vape may prefer another Gotek model. The three-level power system also isn't intended for users who want precise one-watt adjustments — you're choosing between ECO, NOR and MAX rather than setting an exact wattage.
Beyond that, we didn't experience leaking, dry hits or inconsistent firing. The V2 pod was still performing strongly at the end of the test and the device itself felt solid throughout.

Our Verdict: Is the Aspire Gotek Pro 2 Worth Buying?
Yes — and for an existing Gotek user, this is the easiest upgrade recommendation we've made within the range.
After 10 days with the Aspire Gotek Pro 2, the features that stood out most weren't gimmicks. The larger battery genuinely reduced charging interruptions. The aluminium-alloy body made the device feel substantially more premium. The adjustable airflow covered both a tight MTL inhale and an open RDTL draw, while MAX mode provided a clear boost when we wanted more flavour and vapour.
Most importantly, the new V2 pod exceeded our expectations. In a direct comparison against the original Gotek pod using the same e-liquid, flavour was significantly more intense, remained smooth and stayed consistent throughout the entire test. Ten days in, the pod still felt remarkably fresh.
The original Gotek Pro was already popular because it was simple, reliable and inexpensive. The Pro 2 preserves those qualities while fixing its biggest limitations.
If we had to choose one Gotek device for everyday use today, we'd choose the Pro 2.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Aspire Gotek Pro 2
Is the Aspire Gotek Pro 2 the same as the Gotek Pro II?
Yes. Aspire officially calls the device the Gotek Pro II, while Gotek Pro 2 is the more natural spelling commonly used by UK retailers and customers. Both names refer to the same device.
Is the Gotek Pro 2 better than the original Gotek Pro?
In our opinion, yes. The Gotek Pro 2 increases battery capacity from 1500mAh to 2500mAh, adds ECO, NOR and MAX power modes, introduces a segment display, supports faster charging and feels more premium in the hand. After testing both, we would choose the Pro 2.
How long does the Aspire Gotek Pro 2 battery last?
We managed two full days without charging during frequent hands-on testing. For more typical moderate use, we believe around three days may be achievable for some users, although actual battery life varies according to pod resistance, mode, puff duration and frequency of use.
Are the new Gotek V2 pods better than the originals?
Flavour was significantly better in our testing. We compared the new 0.8Ω V2 pod directly with an original Gotek pod using the same e-liquid. The V2 produced more intense and detailed flavour while remaining smooth, and performance was still consistent after 10 days.
Do original Gotek pods work in the Gotek Pro 2?
Yes. The Gotek Pro 2 remains compatible with the wider Aspire Gotek pod range, so existing users can continue using compatible original Gotek pods as well as the newer V2 options.
Do Gotek V2 pods work in older Gotek devices?
The new V2 pods work with several compatible Gotek devices, including models such as the original Gotek Pro, Gotek Nano and Gotek X III. Resistance compatibility can differ between devices, so check your particular kit before ordering replacement pods.
What is the best e-liquid for the Aspire Gotek Pro 2?
Balanced 50/50 e-liquids and nicotine salts are ideal for the Gotek Pro 2 and the 0.8Ω V2 pod supplied with the UK kit. During our review we used Riot X nicotine salts and Bar Juice 5000 nic salts, both of which performed extremely well.
Can the Gotek Pro 2 be used for MTL and RDTL vaping?
Yes. With the 0.8Ω pod and airflow restricted, the Gotek Pro 2 can provide a tight mouth-to-lung draw. Opening the airflow and pairing the device with a suitable lower-resistance Gotek pod produces a looser restricted-direct-to-lung experience.
Does the button fire the Aspire Gotek Pro 2?
No. The Gotek Pro 2 uses automatic draw activation, so you inhale through the mouthpiece to vape. The button is used for device controls such as changing between ECO, NOR and MAX power modes.
Which Gotek Pro 2 mode is best?
NOR is a good everyday starting point. In our testing the difference between ECO and NOR was relatively small, while MAX produced a much more noticeable improvement in flavour intensity and vapour production. ECO is useful when extending battery life is the priority.
Is the Gotek Pro 2 suitable for beginners?
Yes. Despite offering adjustable power and airflow, everyday use remains simple because the device is inhale activated. There is no need to navigate complicated menus or manually set a precise wattage, making the Gotek Pro 2 accessible to beginners as well as experienced pod-kit users.
Where can I buy the Aspire Gotek Pro 2 in the UK?
