SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM™
The new Smartcore Induction System™ that the IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA ONE come equipped with heats the mini tobacco sticks (called TEREA) but doesn't actually burn them - so in comparison to a conventional cigarette which burns at 800 degrees, the IQOS heats the tobacco and instead produces a smoke vapour rather than traditional smoke. With the TEREA, as opposed to their previous HEET Sticks, the heating element is actually inside the TEREA itself. Because of this the internal tobacco is fully enclosed by filters either end to ensure not only a smoother flavour but most importantly completely eradicating the need to ever clean your IQOS ILUMA Device.
The TEREA Sticks further benefit from this Smartcore Induction System™ technology to allow a more even heating throughout ensuring flavour is crisp and delicious from start to the very end. This also allows the innovative possibility of your IQOS ILUMA recognising when an IQOS TEREA Stick has been installed, automatically activating the heating system. However if button activation is preferred this feature can be turned off.
This Smartcore Induction System™ results in an average reduction of 90%-95% in the levels of toxicity and harmful substances found in tobacco IQOS vapour compared to smoke from a cigarette.
On top of that, the IQOS ILUMA has no ash, no smoke, and of course significantly less smell. And because its not LIT tobacco, it also avoids the smoking ban and can be used indoors (where permitted).
