Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a product related question? Or do you just want to find out more about electronic cigarettes? Then this FAQ section is for you.

I'm new to this whole e-cig thing. Where do I start?

First things first.. You’re going to need a starter kit. This includes the charger for the battery, the battery (bottom bit) and a clearomizer (top bit).

The clearomizer has a coil or head which heats up the e-liquid, creating vapour. Every 2-4 weeks on average (depending how often you smoke the unit) this coil or head will burn out. You will be able to either taste the burn, or it will eventually stop creating vapour. In the majority of our clearomizers this coil or head can be replaced, saving you money on buying new clearomizers.

Now the liquid, with all the flavour and percentages it can seem a little confus-ing, but I assure you it isn’t. As with food and drink, you’ll never know which one is for you until you try it. However, Virginia Tobacco, Menthol Special Blend and Strawberry Bliss are popular choices from the Vapouriz range which never seem to disappoint.

The percent is the amount on nicotine in the e-liquid. For example 1.8% = 18mg. The 1.8% is based on a 20 per day smoker. Those who would like a little more we have 2.4%, and for those who would like a little less we have 1.2%, 0.6% and 0.0%.

We understand this can all be a little overwhelming, if you still need a little help, please do not hesitate to contact one of our friendly advisers who will be more than happy to set you up!

I have received my starter kit, what do I do now?

Great news! Let’s get you vaping!

Best thing to do first is charge up your battery, quite like when you get a new phone, the batteries come partly charged. Simply take the charger and attach this into a USB port on a laptop or computer. The take the battery and gently screw it onto charger. The charger light will go red and then to green once fully charged. Please be aware the batteries must be charged using the provided USB charger in the starter kit.

Whilst that is charging you can prepare the clearomizer (top part). All starter kits come with bottom filled clearomizers. To fill, you need to hold the clearomizer upside down, having the mouthpiece pointing to the floor. Next, unscrew the ridged base (where the coil sits) away from the plastic barrel; place the base to one side. Next step, adding the liquid, tilt the unit to a 45% angle then pour the e-liquid into the side barrel, avoid getting it down the central tube. Once filled attach the base back on and turn the clearomizer upright to let the liquid soak into the coils.

Once your battery is charged, assemble your unit!

Every battery has a lock and unlock safety feature. The batteries will come locked. To activate your battery press the main button 5/6 times rapidly. Once unlocked the button will flash. Hold the button down (the light should be solid) and inhale. If the button flashes, this indicates the connection is made too tight, or it still needs charging. When pressing the button down you are making a connection with the coil to heat up the liquid, this will make a crackling sound, which shows its working!

..and away you go! Enjoy vapers!

How long will a 10ml bottle of eliquid last me?

Everyone is different!  Some people like puff away all day and other people like to stick to their designated ‘vaping’ breaks.   As a rough guide, an average 20 a day smoker of traditional cigarettes gets through a 10ml bottle every 10 days or so.

What flavour and strength liquid do I need?

The strength of e-liquid needed correlates with the number of tobacco cigarettes smoked per day

If smoking in excess of 20 per day then 2.4% is advised.

If smoking around 20 per day then 1.8% is advised

If smoking around 10 per day then start at 1.2%

If you are using an e-cig to help you stop smoking then reducing your e-liquid strength to 0.6% can be achieved within 3 - 6 months of vaping if desired.

How long will my battery last before I need to recharge it?

The length of time your battery will last inbetween charges depends on what size battery you have and how often you use it.

Do I need different clearomizers for different flavours?

We suggest having one clearomizer for your tobacco e liquids, one for your menthol e liquids and another for your fruits.

You can use the same clearomizer for different flavours but bear in mind that there will be a little crossover for the first few hours.

There are several different types of clearomizers to choose from, all of which are amazing.  You can find our clearomizers here.

How does a Vapouriz FUSE/PRO/Lumina work?

These models comprimise of two sections; a lithium battery and a clearomizer where the wick or coil sits.

When the button is pressed on the battery, the coil is heated which turns the e-liquid into vapour.  When the button is activated on the battery the LED will light up and you should hear a crackling sound from the clearomizer.  You need to hold the button down as you inhale.

How do I fill my clearomizer with e liquid?

Depending on what clearomizer you have, you either need to fill it by unscrewing the mouthpiece 'top filled' (Vapouriz CE4 and CE4 V3), or it will be 'bottom filled' (Vapouriz FUSE, PRO, Lumina)

To fill a 'top filled' clearomizer with e liquid, simply unscrew the black mouthpiece and tilt the unit to a 45% angle. Then simply pour the e-liquid into the barrel. Avoid getting it down the central metal barrel (as this may cause it to leak).  Do NOT over fill it.

To fill a 'bottom filled' clearomizer, turn the clearomizer upsidedown with the mouthpice pointing to the floor and unscrew the metal base from the bottom. Then pour the liquid around the tube in the middle. The e-liquid should be poured into the 'outer chamber' only, otherwise the clearomizer may leak. Put the base back on and turn the clearomizer upright. Let the liquid soak into the coil for a few minutes.

How do I care for and maintain my electronic cigarette?

In order to get the most out of your clearomizer, please keep your battery locked when not in use. You can lock/unlock the unit, by rapidly pressing the button on the battery 5 times. This ensures that the clearomizer is not inadvertently activated, which in turn could shorten the life span of the clearomizer.

To clean your clearomizer, you can use a damp cloth and wipe the inside of the unit when you’re changing flavour. Make sure it is dry before adding more e-liquid.  To clean the mouth piece, unscrew it from the unit and run it under warm water. To clean dirt or dust out of the centre of the mouth peice, unscrew the coil and push a cotton-bud though the mouth peice and pull it out of the other side.

We strongly advise you NOT to keep your electronic cigarette in your pocket. Due to its long structure, putting it in your pocket puts undue stress on the joints, potentially causing an array of issues. If you must keep it in your pocket, remove it when you sit down.  Please try not to drop or crush it, as it can cause the unit to become misaligned and the joint between the battery and clearomizer will weaken, shortening its life span.

If filled incorrectly, the clearomizer may leak.  When filling the clearomizer ,pour the liquid into the clearomizer avoiding the central tube.

Never let the liquid sit above the top line printed on the clearomizer. This can happen if the unit is left upside down or on its side and will cause it to leak.

Please note that for the unit to work properly there must be a hole for the vapour to exit.

Clearomizers are consumable products and their life span depends on the user.  On average, this is 1-3 weeks. When they are used up or ‘burnt out’ the coils need to be replaced.

What does the term 'vaping' mean?

When most people think of an electronic cigarette, they think it’s ‘like smoking’.  In fact, there is no ‘smoke’ involved, merely water vapour.

The term ‘vaping’ and ‘to vape’ is merely describing the action of using an electronic cigarette.  If you enjoy vaping, you might even call yourself a ‘vaper’.

How often do I need to replace my clearomizer?

How often do you use it? On average, a clearomizer, or usually just the coils within, lasts 1-3 weeks. However, many people use the same clearomizer for months without a problem.

You’ll know when to change it because it will start to taste a little burnt and/or will stop producing vapour.

What restrictions are there on ecigarettes in the UK?

Electronic cigarettes do NOT contain tobacco so they are exempt from the Smoking Ban in public places highlighted in the Health Act 2006. Legally ecigarettes can be smoked anywhere however, it is at the property owners descretion to disallow vaping in their premises. Majority of pub landlords allow vaping inside whereas many restaurants will not allow it.

The use of E cigarettes are prohibited to those under the age of 18 and they should always be kept away from children. Nicotine in its pure form is a poison, and can cause harm. They are not recommended for women who are pregnant or breast feeding. You must verify in the checkout that you are over the age of 18 otherwise you will be unable to complete an order on ubervape.co.uk.

We are prohibited to sell electronic cigarettes and their related products in the U.S. Currently, we are only selling ecigarettes within the UK including Jursey, Guernsey & Isle of Man.

My e-liquid is changing colour

Some of our e liquids change colour as they mature. This does not impact their flavour whatsoever!

The packaging looks different

Not to worry, from time to time, the manufacturers packaging may be subject to change. This will not affect the quality of the goods inside.

Why does my clearomizer taste burnt?

If your clearomizer is running low on liquid, it may 'dry burn' as the head is not fully saturated.  Simply keep your clearomizer topped up with e-liquid to avoid this happening.

If your clearomizer is topped up with e-liquid, you may need to replace it or the coil.

What ingredients are used in E Liquids?

E Liquids contain nicotine, propylene glycol (a water based ingredient found in many health products, medicines, foods and drinks), Vegetable Glycerin, combined with natural and artificial flavourings.

E Liquid is the ‘fuel’ that powers all electronic cigarettes and is available in a wide range of flavours to suit every taste.

We also stock a limited range of VG (Vegetable Glycerin) E Liquids.

All of our E Liquids are compatible with all popular brands of electronic cigarette.

Vapouriz Premium E Liquids are strictly controlled, ensuring accountable quality in every bottle.  They are all supplied in CHIP-compliant packaging and are all made within the UK.

What is the difference between PG and VG E-Liquids?

Propylene Glycol (PG) e liquid is much thinner and produces more of a throat hit than VG – this simulates the feel of smoking more authentically.

However, PG e liquid may cause sensitivity in some users.  We would then recommend using the VG e liquids instead.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG) e liquid is a thick, slightly sweet liquid that produces luscious clouds of vapour.  VG e liquids deliver less of a throat hit.  A minority of users complain about a build-up of phlegm in the throat.

If you are using an e-liquid with 60% VG or lower we would not recommend using an e-liquid below 1.0 ohm resistance as it may leak or it may cause throat irritation. Please contact the support team for any enquiries.

How do I stop my clearomizer leaking?

Leaking is easily preventable. Never let the liquid sit above the top line printed on the clearomizer. This can happen if the unit is left upside down or on its side and will cause it to leak.  In order for the unit to work properly there must be a hole for the vapour to exit.

We strongly advise you NOT to keep your ecigarette in your pocket. Due to their long structure, putting it in your pocket puts undue stress on its joints which can cause an array of issues. If you must keep it in your pocket, remove it when you sit down.  Please try not to drop or crush it, as it can cause the unit to become misaligned and the joint between the battery and clearomizer will weaken, shortening its life span.

I can hear a wet crackling sound but there is little or no vapour being produced.

This means your e-cig’s clearomizer/cartomizer has flooded.

Clean it by placing it vertically on a paper towel, or blow through the threaded part onto a paper towel.

The surplus e liquid will be ejected and the unit may be salvageable.

Please note: A quiet crackling sound is normal and if vapour is being produced, there is no need to worry. It is merely the e liquid heating up.

My e-cig isn’t producing vapour.

If it’s not producing any vapour your clearomizer/cartomizer may be empty. Replace your cartomizer and fill your clearomizer with e liquid.

If you try to vape without any e liquid, it could burn out your clearomizer which could permanently damage it, making it redundant.

If your battery is running low on charge then this will affect the vapour production.

Using a steady long draw versus a quick sharp draw should produce a better vapour.

My battery doesn’t work although I’ve tried charging it. Am I doing something wrong?

It may be locked! Try clicking the button 5 times (quickly). It will flash a few times and will either lock/unlock itself.

Locking your battery will stop it being activated in your bag/pocket which will prevent burning out your clearomizer, using up its charge and wasting your e liquid.

It is important to lock the device every time you are finished with it, especially if you are around children.

There’s e-liquid in my mouth

This can sometimes happen if the clearomizer has flooded, the cartridge overfilled, or if the e-cig has been drawn on too hard. However, the number one cause is keeping your e-cig upside down or putting pressure on the clearomizer by keeping it in your pocket. We suggest keeping it upright at all times to ensure that the liquid is always kept below the top printed line on the clearomizer.

E liquid will taste bitter so rinse your mouth out with water if this occurs. Use a paper towel to mop up any excess liquid you can see on and around the e-cigarette and make sure it’s as dry as possible before trying to use it again. Please be rest assured that small amounts of e liquid will not have a negative impact on your health.

What about the health issues?

Electronic cigarettes do NOT contain tobacco so they do not burn in the same was as traditional cigarettes. They do not produce ash, carbon monoxide, benzene or any of the other dangerous by products which result from burning tobacco.

The vaporization process produces no smell or residue. People nearby do not face the passive smoking dangers that are associated with traditional cigarettes.

Scientific research carried out so far has concluded that electronic cigarettes are substantially less harmful than traditional cigarettes. One study has concluded that the risks are equivalent to those of using nicotine patches. Electronic cigarettes are not for the use of those under 18 and they should always be kept away from children. They are not recommended for women who are pregnant or breast feeding.

How do I smoke an e-cigarette?

Firstly, we do not like to use the word smoke when refering to ecigarettes as there is no smoke involved, instead water vapour is product, hence 'vaping' as our prefered phrase.

Vapouriz FUSE, PRO and Lumina - Press the button on the battery as you inhale through the mouthpiece. Let go of the button as you exhale.

For best results, inhale using a slow long breath.

Why should I choose electronic cigarettes?

Vapouriz is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of electronic cigarettes. They only sell premium quality products and they’ve been fully audited by ECITA (Electronic Cigarette Industry Trade Association).  If you’re worried about their green credentials, then rest assured – their packaging is CHIP-compliant and all their products comply with the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive.

Are electronic cigarettes subject to the UK smoking ban?

The UK smoking ban introduced in the Health Act 2006,  Chapter 28 Part 1, Chapter 1, Section 1, Para 2 states:

‘smoking’ refers to smoking tobacco or anything which contains tobacco, or smoking any other substance; and smoking includes being in possession of lit tobacco or anything lit which contains tobacco, or being in possession of any other lit substance in a form in which it could be smoked.

Electronic cigarettes are exempt from this Health Act as no tobacco is lit or used.

What e-liquid should I use for sub-ohm vaping?

When vaping using sub-ohm coils a substantial amount of vapour is produced compared to using coils above 1.0ohm (Ω) on the same device. Typically sub-ohm vapers take lung hits meaning they inhale straight to their lungs increasing the vapour they can inhale each puff.

Those who vape sub-ohm usually favour e-liquid with a higher percentage of VG (vegetable glycerin) than PG (propylene glycol). The reason for this is that the vegetable glycerin creates larger clouds and denser vapour production. This is because VG has reduced throat hit compared to PG which helps to accommodate for the increased amount of vapour inhaled. Usually those vaping sub-ohm will also use lower nicotine strengths (typically 6mg/ml [0.6%] and under) compare to those vaping above 1.0ohm also because of the additional vapour produced and inhaled each pull.
